If you’ve been using Google Drive, you have probably experienced this error. Which says: “Download Quota Exceeded or sorry you can’t view or download this file at this time”. If a large number of users downloaded a file, the file may be blocked for a period of time. The reason being Google wants to minimize abuse.
Bypass Google Drive Download Limit Error
You need a Google account and sign
When you click on a shared link and see the file preview, click on 3 dot icon button at the right corner and choose “Add Star”. This will add a link to the original file in “Starred” on your Google Drive.
Method 2: Stay in file preview for a few seconds. Check “Shared with me”, the file should also be there. Only google account used to view the file preview can see the link.
If it is a direct link and you can’t see file preview, change “https://drive.google.com/uc?id=…” to “https://drive.google.com/open?id=…” so you can add to your drive. This is only for really old links on this website.
Navigate to the link you added in “Starred”. Next, right-click on the link and choose to [Make a copy]. A copy of the original file will be added to your drive and you’ll be the owner of it.
You can now download (Copy of … file) without any problem. To do so, just right click on the file and hit [Download].
This windows always occur when file is too big and Google couldn’t scan it, press [Download Anyway] and the file will start downloading. Remove the copy to save your storage space after if needed.
When you tried to download the copy and google sent this page instead. This is because Google doesn’t allow download file with non-main accounts (the first one you signed in). Right-click on the copy -> Get Shareable Link, paste it on the address bar and download it this way.
